Thomas Alva Edison was an American inventor and one of the greatest inventorsin history . Edison began working at a very young age and continued to work until his death . During his career , Thomas Alva Edison had patented the invention approl ximately of 1,093 , including the electric light bulb and the gramophone , as well as film cameras . These three inventions generate major industries for the power industry, recording and film ultimately affect the lives of people around the world. He is also known as the inventor of applying the principle of ' mass production ' for his inventions .
Edison himself gained his expertise in the field of electricity and telegraphy ( the telegraph for communication ) during the teenage years . In 1868 , at the age of 21 years , he has developed and patented the discovery in the form of a recording telegraph machine .
His future , Edison only attended formal school for three months , then all of his education was obtained from his mother who taught Edison at home . Mom teaches Edison Edison how to read , write , and mathematics . He also often gave and read books for Edison , among other books from authors such as Edward Gibbon , William Shakespeare and Charles Dickens .
Edison at the age of 12 years , while earning money by way of selling newspapers and working papers , apples , and candy on a railway line . At that age anyway , Edison almost had lost all hearing because of her illness , the illness makes it a half- deaf . Edison once wrote in his diary : " I have never heard the birds singing since I was 12 years old . "
At the age of 15 years , Edison , while still selling , bought a small second-hand printing press which further mounted on a car trunk . Then he prints his own newspaper , WEEKLY HERALD , which is in print , edited and sold in the spot he was selling .
In the summer of 1862, Edison rescued a three year old son who is almost hit by a car . The father of the child who saved the head of the train station is in place to sell. And as a thank you, the station master taught Edison how to use the telegraph. After 5 months of studying the telegraph, Edison worked as a telegraph for 4 years. Almost all the salary he earned was spent by building a wide range of laboratory and electrical equipment .
Edison was very happy to learn something and read books there. Of those studied, Edison applying these lessons in a way to experiment in his laboratory . Edison lived in the laboratory , only sleep 4 hours a day , and eating of food brought by his assistant to his laboratory . Edison conducted experiments and experiments continuously until its findings be perfect . Perhaps a suitable word to describe the brilliance of Edison is : " Genius is 99 % perspiration "
