Unique traditions, clogging nose.

It might sound spooky to say , that there are people who cover or block the nostrils themselves . However , it is real and true , one of the Indian tribes , have done so in accordance with the provisions of the existing ancestral traditions .

One of the many Indian tribes are Apatani group .

One of the many Indian tribes are Apatani group . Located on a plateau Apatani Indian , Apatani , or Tani , are ethnic groups who have about 60,000 members . Often praised , because they are highly efficient agriculture , performed without animals or machinery .
They do not have a written record of its history , and traditions passed down orally , from generation to generation . Unique from the Apatani tribe , which is a tradition to close or clog the nostrils for the women , and is very well known and has been in effect since time immemorial .
The tradition of the Apatani tribe clogging nose being conducted by most of the older women in the tribe . There was once a time , when every woman should wear other accessories strange , but since the mid- 20th century , the custom is slowly dying .
According to them , the plug ( cover / stopper ) nose was born as a way to protect the women of the tribe . Apparently , Apatani women have always considered the most beautiful among the Arunachal tribes , their village is constantly raided by neighboring tribes , and the women are then kidnapped .

The tradition of the Apatani tribe clogging nose being conducted by most of the older women in the tribe .

To make themselves unattractive to the other tribes , Apatani women began wearing the nose that looks awful corked it , and tattooed their faces with horizontal lines , from the forehead to the tip of the nose , and five lines on their chins. However , because of the times and all the hyper- modern , Apatani women born since 1970 , no longer wanted to continue the tradition of terrible like that again.
