Mercedes still has not been able to compete with the competitors in Monaco Grand Prix practice session. Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg posted the fastest time 1-2.
It recorded the fastest time in the morning session. Hamilton is at the forefront with a 1 minute 18.271 seconds. He excelled 0.032 seconds ahead of Rosberg.
In the second session in the afternoon, Hamilton could only be the second fastest.
Ferrari driver Fernando Alonso remove him from the list of fastest time, but Alonso's best time, 1 minute 18.482 seconds, was defeated by Hamilton's best time in the first session.
The driver could not fix a time in the second session, because the track conditions are not as good as the first session.
Before the second session, heavy rains flushed Monte Carlo Street Circuit. Because the track is wet, the new driver can use slick tires and posted a competitive enough time at the end of the session.
"If you lose (time) in the second session, it may be disappointing, but the lead in the first session have been very good because it managed to devour a lot of laps," said Hamilton told Autosport.
Sebastian Vettel of Red Bull-Renault is quite competitive in the second session. He ranks third behind Hamilton.
