Problem Shooting Three Muslim Students.
The shooting of three Muslims in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, United States on the last Tuesday (10/2) a wave of criticism.One of the criticisms leveled by the President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan. He questioned the silence of US President Barack Obama, Secretary of State John Kerry, US Vice President Joe Biden and the political elite in the land of Uncle Sam.
"If you remain silent when faced with incidents like this and does not make any representations, the world will silence you. As politicians, we are responsible for everything that happens in our country and must show our position," said Erdogan in a news conference during a visit to Mexico (12/2).
"I ask this question to Obama: Where are you Mr. President?" he added.
He asserted that Obama's silence and the heads of the US it can mean many things. So far, Erdogan also often criticized treatment western countries against the Muslim population.
Not only Erdogan, a critique of the shooting is also flowing in social media. Tagar #ChavelHillShooting and #MuslimLivesMatter has used hundreds of thousands of times during these four days.
"People are very concerned about this incident. They feel that it is planned that a hate crime," said Director of the Institute for American-Islamic Relations Nihad Awad.
Many Muslim population in Chapel Hill who fear after the incident.
In North Carolina there were 65 thousand Muslims and the majority live in Chapel Hill.
On the other hand, the funeral of three shooting victims are Muslim students Deah Shaddy Barakat, 23, and his wife Yusor Mohammad Abu-Salha, 21, and sister Razan Mohammad Abu-Salha, 19, attended by thousands of people.
"We are confident that our daughters were killed because of their religion. It is not a matter of dispute parking. They were executed by being shot in the back of the head," said the father Yusor and Razan, Mohammad Abu-Salha in tears just before the funeral.
The gunman Craig Hicks, 46, was recently arrested. Police investigating the motive for the shooting. During Hicks is known as an atheist who hates religion and belief. Thank you for reading this article.
