Clockwise.

Moves clockwise to the right. Why?

"Clockwise". People everywhere on Earth generally understand the meaning of the phrase. Of course that is rotating clockwise is spinning to the right.
How is originally rotating clockwise to the right? The origin of the velocity is not independent of the geographical factors of great ancient civilizations-Egyptian, Roman, Greek, Babylonian, or China; which are in the northern hemisphere.
Most of the civilizations use sundials (sundial) as a timepiece.
Sundial is originally from Egypt consists of two parts namely a square circle-shaped board inscribed with figures and a triangular pole (gnomon) are standing upright on the board. When the solar rays highlight, then overwrite the gnomon shadow board and shows the current time.
Given the sundial is in the northern hemisphere, then imagine the gnomon will look to move to the right.
Another story if the clock was placed in the southern part of the Earth, because it will be moving the opposite direction.
Meanwhile, if he is right on the equator, then the shadow will only move straight from west to east.
When mechanical clocks began to be made, which in medieval Europe, apparently "custom" it continues, although placed anywhere, in a clockwise direction of rotation will remain to the right. Thank you for reading this article. Written and posted by Bambang Sunarno. sunarnobambang86@gmail.com
