One of the victims was Prof.Joep Lange, former president of the International AIDS Society (IAS) and principal investigator in the field of HIV.
Lange is also the founder and chairman of PharmAccess Foundation, a nonprofit organization that works to improve access to treatment of HIV / AIDS in developing countries. Lange also one of the editors of the journal Antiviral Therapy.
Lange was originally slated to be a speaker at the conference week (20/7) this. The delegation departed from Amsterdam meeting is planned to be changed planes in Kuala Lumpur to continue the trip to Melbourne.
