The young man named Marco Polo. He was with his father and uncle Maffeo Polo Nicolo Polo was the first European explorer who has decades of experience in mainland China and Asia. Explained that the cities in mainland China is so advanced and had a fairly modern architecture in his time.
Some things are unknown in the western world, is described detail in the book. Culture and customs of the Chinese people who developed it makes many Europeans who regard the story of Marco Polo was just gibberish. Especially after knowing in China already used banknotes, whereas in Europe still use metal coins, silver and gold.
Although contested and considered lying senseless on the information, writing in the Description of the World turned out to affect the European explorers to uncover the truth of the tale. From this open Western eyes to venture into the Eastern world they perceive is still very primitive and barbaric.
Until the end of his life in 1324, Marco Polo who asked one priest for confession on his views towards the east just say that what was said in the book his Description of the World is just a fraction of his experience in the East (China and vicinity).
