Dangerous Volcanoes.

Dangerous Volcanoes

Volcano has a variety of sizes and shapes depending on the location of the establishment . Geological factors affecting various kinds of this volcano .

Stratovolcano.

Many volcanoes located in the Cascade ranks fall into this category . Mount St . Helen, Hood, and Ranier is a classic example. Other examples around the world, including Pinatubo in the Philippines and Tungurahua in Ecuador . Mount this type typically have steep sides created by lava and pyroclastic flow of activity for years , decades or centuries . Usually there is a central vent near the top of the mountain . Stratovolcano is often referred to as a composite volcano .

Caldera.

Caldera created when a large magma chamber formed beneath the earth's surface followed by an eruption . During the eruption , the magma chamber be empty and collapsed leaving depression in the landscape . Large caldera that is a few miles up to 10 miles ( 16 km ) or even larger. The world's largest caldera is Yellowstone caldera created by a series of ruins of the magma chamber . Another caldera can be found in Long Valley , California . Caldera commonly found in Iceland , Europe and Africa .

Shield.

Shield volcanoes do not have steep slopes as a stratovolcano . This volcano is formed of lava flows along the fissure in the earth.
Shield volcanoes are generally formed along with cracks in the crust of hot spots . A series of volcanoes along the cracks have shields and ash cone structure . The series has a mountain -type Hawaiian Islands , including Mauna Loa and Kilauea mountain .

Mix.

When many vents reach the surface , a volcano has many characteristics . This volcano volcano is classified in the mix. The structure of this mountain formed at different times . For example , the eruption at the vent creates a shield or a cone , while the other vents create a stratovolcano . Mount Pacaya in Guatemala has several peaks and in every shape and has a conical stratovolcano . The mountain is actively producing ash and lava since 1965 .

Sprawl.

Plate tectonics literally float on the Earth's mantle to form crust . These plates pushing against each other in some areas , but in other areas will repel each other . Areas where tectonic away from each other is called tenuous volcano . Estrangement can form cracks along the surface of the earth . Existing ventilation associated with mountain sprawl along the surface of the earth . Area sprawl occurs predominantly in the Mid Atlantic Ridge seafloor . Throughout these mountains , creating mountains of lava pushed out under the Atlantic Ocean . Mount this type often found in Iceland .

Table Mountain.

This mountain is the result of volcanic eruption under the glacier . The mountain is formed of lava and gases produce a mountain with a form almost like a cube . The classic example is Herdubreid table mountain in Iceland . This mountain has erupted 10 thousand years ago when there was a crack in the bottom of the ice .

Sinder and Tuff Cones.

Cinder cones formed when scoria ( lava ) out during the eruption , and cools as it exits the vent . Scoria usually porous and lightweight . Tuff cones formed from volcanic eruptions that eject ash and pumice . Mount Paricutin in Mexico is a cinder cone . Paricutin appeared in February 1943. In a matter of days, cinder cones as high as 100 feet ( 30.5 meters ) created and eruption continues. Mountain continued to erupt until 1952 , when the eruption subsides, new mountains as high as 1,300 feet ( 396 m ) was established.
