Confront winter.

Syrian Refugees Facing the threat of a severe winter

In the face of severe winter weather, the Syrian refugee camps has made unofficial tents made of plastic sheeting nailed to a wooden frame, as the only barrier to protect them from the threat of winter in Saadnayel in southern Lebanon.

"I would rather die a million times than to live through the winter is very fierce," said Faisal (48) told AFP on Thursday (12/12/2013), as released by OnIslam.
"There is no one else to experience what happened to us. Every country has conspired against us, they are all traitors, "said Faisal, the head wrapped in a scarf.
Faisal is one of over 500 refugees in makeshift tent at a refugee camp in the face of a severe winter storm over the last few days in Saadnayel.
Like the hundreds of thousands of other refugees, the father of four children from Idlib in northwest Syria forced to leave their home heading to Lebanon where there are many informal tent camps as shelter for the families who fled the country due to the slaughter in Syria.
More than 835 000 registered Syrian refugees in Lebanon, although the actual number is estimated to amount to more than one million.
In the refugee camp, seen some people have a basic heating the cold to fend off a storm dubbed "Alexa" which hit Lebanon.
"I hate the cold," said Sakr (13) in her coat.
"When it snows, the water discharge into the mud in the tent,"
Other children, there are some who do not wear head coverings at all, rubbing their hands were frozen. Their boots caked with mud.
"Give us something to keep us warm," they appealed to a group of reporters.
On the other tents in refugee camps, men and women, while carrying a baby in their arms, trying to share some of their own body heat to his son.
Some refugees have used drastic measures in an attempt to counter the effects of the storms, bitter cold.
"We had to burn the shoes to keep warm because there is no other fuel," said Najla, (40).
Pungent smell of burning shoe meets the tents are now a "home" for at least six people displaced in each tent.

The plight of the refugees.

The UN expressed concern over Syrian refugees in Lebanon when a severe winter storm hit them.
"We are very worried, because the weather was really very cold in the Bekaa region, and we are very concerned about the fate of the refugees are staying in temporary shelters, because many of the shelter was incompatible standards," said UNHCR spokeswoman, Lisa Abou Khaled .
United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and the Lebanese army has distributed blankets and heat for heating fuel costs.
UNHCR has set aside items including plastic sheeting, mats, blankets and mattresses to assist IDPs a reservoir may flood or destroyed by the storm.
Although some of these efforts, there is great concern about the fate of refugees who live in more than 200 emergency camps in northern and eastern Lebanon.
"The Syrian refugees here shivering, especially those in tents," Wafiq Khalaf, a member of the city council Arsal, told AFP by telephone.
"The water from the roof down flooded tents, and water from the soil that floods into the tent," he said.
But despite the suffering caused by the winter storms, Khalaf said that the refugees were still arriving, among 10 families who fled from Qalamoun area north of Damascus.
