Chinese Reclamation Spratly Islands.

Threatens Stability of ASEAN and Surrounding Areas.

Construction of the Spratly Islands which made China makes a lot of countries around worried, because very likely the area was transformed into a military base.

Not without reason that concerns arise, because clearly visible runway built China in the Spratly Islands is able to accommodate all types of aircraft, both commercial aircraft and fighter planes.
Not only the ASEAN countries which feel threatened its security, but also Australia and the United States, because if China has a military base in the area, long-distance bombers belonging to them, Xian H-6K, can launch cruise missiles capable of destroying all military fisilitas United States in Australia.
"Reclamation is certainly violate semanagt declaration of behavior (DOC) between China and ASEAN in 2002," said Greg Poling, an analyst at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS).

China's development is carried out in the island expected to be completed within the next 10 years or even faster.
Polls reveal that the DOC aims to facilitate dialogue between ASEAN member countries and China. DOC is expected to be a deterrent confrontation in the South China Sea that have the potential to get worse.
Unfortunately, since declared, DOC is like a toothless tiger. China of course continue to do development and dialogue agreed never go according to expectations.

Vietnam and the Philippines, which both claim the Spratlys could not do much against Chinese behavior. During both Hanoi and Manila have already voiced their objections with quite vocal. For prevention of attacks from China, Vietnam arming themselves. They buy the latest weaponry from Russia worth billions of dollars the United States, including more than 20 pieces of fighter bomber Su-30 type.
The Vietnamese government also made a strategic port in Cam Ranh Bay to naval world. One of the building bases there is the United States.

On the other hand, the Philippines chose take legal action in the UN International Court on the Law of the Sea. The Philippines also bought two new battleships would be a maritime fleet to counter China's ambitions in the South China Sea.
Although the two countries are already preparing to arm themselves, however their capabilities are still far below China.
"Vietnam and the Philippines have limited choices. They can not use force, does not want to compete to do the construction development in the Spratlys which will only make the situation unstable. They also can not win the competition (development)," said Poling.

Not only that, many observers considered that the massive development measures carried out China in disputed territory, located in the South China Sea has its own purpose, ie more stick nails as the legitimate owner of the area. Military facilities that will be built in the area that also makes China has far more advantages than other countries participating claiming the island.
"This facility, seems to be built with the aim of forcing countries other claimants to give up their ownership claims, or at least (this development) will make the Chinese have a stronger negotiating position on the disputed area," said the defense official publication IHS Janes.
IHS is a company that provides information and analysis to support business and government who will make decisions on industrial, defense, security, energy, technology, trade and maritime.

Separately, the Chinese government dismissed allegations that his country is going to attack.
"The action (development in the Spratlys) will not target or affect anybody," said Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi.
"We are not like other countries do the construction illegally in the territory of others. We do not accept criticism from others when we build our own facilities in the area," he added.
