Mercedes continued its dominance at the Spanish GP. All series of pre-race, start to the qualifying practice session, were wiped out.
Today leading grid on the start line will be filled in a duet of two riders. Lewis Hamilton chalked up his first pole position in Spain.
In qualifying at Catalunya two seasons ago , the origin of Stevenage was disqualified from pole position after violating the rules on fuel .
Hamilton recorded the fastest time of 1 minute 25.232 seconds. It became the 34th pole position of his career.
With these achievements, the former McLaren driver now sits alone in fourth place rider with the highest pole.
Previously, at the Chinese GP record equaling Jim Clark and Alain Prost.
In the second place, there was Nico Rosberg who dominated the first two qualifying sessions.
The German admitted frustration quickly lost teammate in the final moments of qualifying, the difference in time 0.168 seconds.
"Very disappointed. I was not too happy to be in second place behind Lewis. So, of course I was disappointed., But I am pretty good time. Lewis perform better, that's all," said Rosberg, who last year won the pole position at Barcelona's Circuit .
