Red Bull 1-2, Mercedes adrift More than One Sec.
Difficult to stem the performance of Sebastian Vettel at the Singapore Grand Prix. Red Bull-Renault showed a perfect performance when a training session at the Marina Bay street circuit yesterday (20/9), he's far enough ahead over its rivals.
Vettel led 1-2 to give the position of the Red Bull. He posted the fastest time in the second session with a time of 1 minute 44.249 seconds. Team-mate Mark Webber came in second place with a gap of 0.604 seconds.
Practically only the two Red Bull drivers who compete in the top position record the best time.
Webber had the lead when the two riders wearing tires with soft compound.
With a time of 1 minute 46.157 seconds, 0.251 seconds ahead of her time records Vettel, but Vettel immediately respond when Red Bull put supersoft compound tires.
The German was once listed his best time with the soft compound it.
Although the opportunity to improve his time, Webber, Vettel was able to shift position again.
"A good day, but all should remember this new practice. I'm sure other teams still have potential unseen. Circuit is very tricky. So everything is still cautious in the exercise," said Vettel.
Victory in Singapore will provide three consecutive wins for Vettel this season premiere. In 2011 he won two times a hat trick, while last year he even creates all four game winning streak, including a victory in Singapore.
Closest rivals Red Bull Vettel outside this time coming back from Mercedes, namely Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton.
Nico Rosberg was third followed by Lewis Hamilton. The two drivers were more than a second adrift of Vettel.
"They've got speed when the temperature is higher trajectory. Was probably better suited in the current race. Mercedes also had a good pace in qualifying as many races this season," said Webber.
